Maties RAG 09 Day 11 – ATKV Fees (New Holland)

I wasn’t very impressed by their CD. There, I said it. A lot of people have been raving about them, and in particular about their live shows. Needless to say, I was very curious about their performance on stage, especially after Foto na Dans sounded pretty terrible (note: I like FND very much – their sound sucked on the night though).

I had listened to the CD a couple of times when it was just released, but for all purpouses the music was quite new to me. I was pretty darn impressed. Gerdus’ riffs were tasteful and well thought out, the band was tight and the vocals sufficient. Add to that a crowd that adored them, and you understand why I was convinced to listen through the album a gazillion times before I can now finally make this post. I am now convinced. New Holland provide more than mere “Party Rock”, as it so fondly got named, they create solid, creative melodies that ring pleasantly throughout the night.

    Just want to throw a big ‘one time’ out there on your band photography. i was there on the day as well and you captured the atmosphere for each respective band really well.
